About This Training

This workshop explores the modality of play as used during the core intervention phase of Child-Parent Psychotherapy.

Key themes include cultural beliefs about play, ways we understand and translate the potential meanings of children’s play, and common play themes.

Using rich cultural vignettes, the workshop will show ways to intervene in play to support both the caregiver and child, to facilitate body-mind connections and repair the protective shield.

Audience: This training is for CPP-trained mental health clinicians only.

Continuing Education: This is a 6-hour training. Participants will receive handouts, an agenda, and a certificate of attendance to submit for continuing education credit on their own.
