About This Event

Ever wonder how the Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) model of reflective practice could help you in your exact job? Join us as we hear from early childhood educator, Aiesha Rahn, as she shares how the FAN model of Reflective Practice can support early childhood educators in the classroom, in conversations with families and in their work with other professionals.

Attendees will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of reflective practice and why it is important for helping professionals;
  • Receive a brief overview of the Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) model of reflective practice;
  • Hear directly from an early childhood educator about how they use the FAN model in their and how it benefits them as a professional;
  • Learn what the Nebraska Center on Reflective Practice offers regarding FAN training,  reflective consultation and other reflective practice training opportunities.

Aiesha Rahn has over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, with a strong commitment to serving vulnerable children and families, especially in her native North Omaha community. She spent five years as an Early Childhood Specialist with Early Childhood Services under Building Bright Futures and later transitioned to the State of Nebraska’s Step Up to Quality initiative in the same role. Aiesha has conducted training for the Nebraska Department of Education and contributed to the final two years of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 10-year Getting Ready Infant and Toddler research study. She is an adjunct instructor at the College of Saint Mary, teaching Early Childhood Education courses. She earned her M.Ed. from Concordia University and an Ed.S. from Northcentral University. She also holds two Infant Mental Health Endorsements through the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health, one as an Infant Family Specialist and the other in Reflective Supervision.
