About This Event

Objectives: In this webinar, we will

  • Discuss the general process of PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) and what it looks like for families
  • Discuss the general theories behind PCIT, including attachment theory, social learning theory, and behaviorism
  • Identify the effects of PCIT on children and their adult caregivers
  • Be able to identify children and families who would benefit from PCIT, and those for whom PCIT would not be appropriate
  • Gain knowledge about the referral process and how to access PCIT providers in the state of Nebraska

Audience: This webinar is for all professionals who work with children including Child Advocacy, CASA, Head Start, Family Support, Community Support, Caseworkers, GAL’s, and many more.

Continuing education: This is a 1-hour webinar. Participants will receive handouts, an agenda, and a certificate of attendance to submit for continuing education credits on their own.

Lynne Clure, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in Omaha, NE. She completed her PhD in school psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a pre-doctoral internship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the University of Tennessee Professional Psychology Internship Consortium. During internship, Dr. Clure was trained as a PCIT International Certified Therapist. She is now a Within-Agency Trainer for PCIT International and actively supervises graduate student externs and post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Clure provides assessment and therapy services for a range of childhood problems, is also involved in several medical specialty clinics, including the neuro-oncology and oncology survivorship clinics, and is currently the clinical director for the multidisciplinary Autism diagnostic clinic.
