The parent-child relationship is foundational to build security, connection, and emotional resiliency. As we build security within our relationship with our child, we grow their ability to face hard situations, tough emotions, and face life with a greater sense of courage.

This presentation covers:

  1. Strategies to build relationships and connect emotionally with children.
  2. How relational ruptures can be repaired.
  3. Identifying ways caregivers can support themselves so they can create a more genuine connection with their child.

This event is directed toward professionals who may interact with parents of young children in any capacity.

Jordan McCoy, LIMHP

Jordan is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner who has spent 11 years working with children, adolescents, and families. Jordan's passion and extensive training has assisted her in working with various populations who have endured stress and trauma. Jordan's training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused-CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Jordan is certified in EMDR and is a Consultant in Training. Jordan has served as the President of the Nebraska Counseling Association and values the benefits of a collaborative approach with other professionals working with children and families. Jordan loves providing Circle of Security-Parenting classes and has found that COS-P is a great avenue for providing parents, teachers, and other professionals with an understanding on how to meet children's social and emotional needs.
